چکیده

This paper presents the two uncoupled elastoplastic-damage models; Lemaitre’s and Vaz’s damage models. The models are implemented into finite element ABAQUS software using user routine UMAT to analyze predict evolution. In context of von-Mises yield criteria, variable fracture indicator predicted, in addition stress effective plastic strain. Both elastoplastic tangent operator return mapping procedure formulated consistent formulation. Two cases have been analyzed; first one is an axisymmetric notched bar, while second case a plane strain doubled plate. aforementioned predictions, parametric study carried out explore effect denominator exponent on behavior. It concluded that succeeded prediction point fracture, Lemaitre's model gives more efficient description band.

Globally Stable Quasistatic Evolution for a Coupled Elastoplastic–damage Model

We show the existence of globally stable quasistatic evolutions for a rateindependent material model with elastoplasticity and incomplete damage, in small strain assumptions. The main feature of our model is that the scalar internal variable which describes the damage affects both the elastic tensor and the plastic yield surface. It is also possible to require that the history of plastic strain...

FEM Implementation of the Coupled Elastoplastic/Damage Model: Failure Prediction of Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) Composites

The coupled damage/plasticity model for meso-level which is ply-level in case of Uni-Directional (UD) Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) is implemented. The mathematical formulations, particularly the plasticity part, are discussed in a comprehensive manner. The plastic potential is defined in effective stress space and the damage evolution is based on the theory of irreversible thermodynamics. T...

A Coupled Elastoplastic Damage Model for Geomaterials

A triaxial constitutive model is developed for elastoplastic behavior of geomaterials, which accounts for tensile damage. The constitutive setting is formulated in the framework of continuum thermodynamics using internal variables. The interaction of elastic damage and plastic flow is examined with the help of very simple constitutive assumptions: (i) a Drucker-Prager yield function is used to ...

On elastoplastic damage modelling in unsaturated geomaterials

In the context of nuclear waste disposal, the modelling of the behaviour of host rocks and soils still needs improvement. Unsaturated porous geomaterials exhibit particular behaviour when exposed to suction. Their non-linear behaviour may result from two different processes, plasticity which induces irreversible strains and damage which causes a deterioration of their elastic properties. Many e...

‌Progressive Damage Analysis of Laminated Composites using Continuum Damage Mechanics

In this paper, progressive damage and global failure of composite laminates under quasi-static, monotonic loading are investigated using 3D continuum damage mechanics. For this purpose, a finite element program has been developed using an eight-node 2D layered element including layer-wise plate theory. Damage analysis of a single orthotropic layer under various uniform in-plane and transverse l...
